HOT Lingerie is a brand under Shirley of Hollywood, a third generation lingerie business based in Los Angeles since 1948. Shirley of Hollywood was started when “Grampsy”, the National Corset and Shirley of Hollywood founder was selling supplies to the bra and corset industry in NYC. His sons Jon (1960) and Roy (1961) joined the family business once the business relocated to California. Times change and so did their focus, rather than providing the supplies for lingerie, they began to design their own. Roy decided that in 1966 they should manufacture their own lingerie and designs. Approximately 4 years later they purchased the “Shirley of Hollywood” name from a retiring customer and expanded the product line to include corsets, bustiers, bras, panties, babydolls, stockings, loungewear and more. The sons, Roy and Jon, made a great team. Jon handled the finances and Roy oversaw production, together the company expanded and grew with the demand from all over. As the company grew, so did the Schlobohms family, in the 1980s the third generations joined in on the family production.
They have been creating fun and playful lingerie for more than the just consumers. Even the film and music industry wanted a slice of Shirley of Hollywood and for over 60 years many of the products have been made famous by magazines and television shows, including So You Think You Can Dance, House Wives of Atlanta, Modern Marvels, America’s Got Talent and Entourage. A fun fact about the brand is that of the more than 50 employees, the average Shirley of Hollywood employee has worked at the company for 15 years, making a brand a favorite among employees, customers and peers.
